This blog was started as a way to collect content for a project I’m doing for class about gender and society. One of the main questions I asked when I started brainstorming for this project is What would a less gender obsessed world look like?
One of the ways I want to start answering this is to collect photos of people who don’t fit into the gender binary or who just don’t dress in the clothing that society deems to belong to a single gender. I’d like for these photos to be a celebration of the subject’s favorite outfits or the clothes they feel most comfortable wearing.

So if you are interested in contributing please either email me at kellyjbarnum@gmail.com or submit to idresshowiwant.tumblr.com with attached photos and an optional message about why you like the clothes or how the make you feel.

I plan on using the content submitted to this bog to create a booklet or publication that celebrates dressing in clothes appropriate for how you identify, or just the clothes you feel comfortable wearing despite your gender.
